Veterans' Long Term Care Assistance Programs

Home Assistance & Trained Senior Caregivers

There is a lot to know about Veterans long term care assistance, and navigating the claims process can be frustrating at times. We will help you understand your policy and assist with the claims process from start to finish. Understanding the benefit for the one receiving care is important to avoid unnecessary costs and that the maximum benefits will pay over the years. We process claims electronically and will fight for you to help your claims get approved.

Knowing what kind of government Veteran’s long-term care assistance is available to War-era veterans is essential to a senior’s financial future. We provide families with vetted resources and education on these programs. We help navigate and understand the process.

Is It Guaranteed?

We work hard to get your claim favorably resolved and since we know the process, whom to speak with, and what questions to ask we are usually successful. But still, we cannot make guarantees that all claims will be approved or that all clients meet the requirements of insurance policies or veterans' benefits.

We are specialists in compassionate care and expert in navigating long-term home health care insurance.
Veterans' Care Needs

For our clients who are veterans, it can be especially challenging to manage the finances of senior care on a military pension. Fortunately, we can often direct veterans and their families to resources and programs that may provide significant assistance, such as the VA Aid and Attendance program. Aid and Attendance benefits are part of a government program designed to help wartime veterans and their surviving spouses pay for help with activities of daily living.

How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You

For wartime veterans, their surviving spouses, and their loved ones, VA Aid and Attendance benefits can significantly reduce the financial burdens of senior care. These benefits are:

  • Not required to be repaid as long as claimant remains eligible
  • Not taxed
  • Paid directly to claimants every month by the US Treasury
  • Paid in addition to military pensions
Key Points of Aid and Attendance Eligibility
  • Military Service To qualify for this program, a veteran must have served at least 90 days’ active duty, with at least one of those days during a time of war. Dishonorable discharge disqualifies veterans from this program.
  • Personal Care Needs Wartime veterans or their surviving spouses must currently require help from another person with activities of daily living. ADLs may include meal preparation, eating, bathing and grooming, transportation, walking, and more.
  • Income The majority of a veterans’ income must be spent on care. Benefits are awarded in relation to the percentage of income spent on care, up to a maximum.
  • Assets The VA establishes a maximum limit for each applicant’s assets. A veteran’s age and financial need affect this limit.
